Check the destination
Before purchasing or shipping a vehicle, check whether it can be imported and registered at its destination. Transport and registration are separate steps.
Permanent export involves the DVLA. UK imports may require customs clearance, HMRC notification, vehicle approval and DVLA registration.

French customs guidance ↗Customs formalities also apply to vehicles arriving from mainland France. Octroi de mer and other taxes depend on the territory and the circumstances, including any eligible relocation relief.

Submit either direction through our vehicle enquiry. We assess the origin, destination and vehicle details, then confirm the available shipping and supporting services before booking.
Do not pack personal belongings without written approval. RoRo carriers commonly prohibit them. For container shipments, additional goods must be declared and approved as part of the loading and customs plan.
They require a review of the powertrain and battery condition, the applicable shipping requirements and the carrier's acceptance policy. Declare any battery issue, accident, flood or fire damage in your enquiry.
Select the correct running condition in the form. Loading equipment, safe handling and carrier acceptance need to be assessed. Do not deliver a non-running vehicle to a port without a confirmed arrangement.
Only services expressly listed in your quotation are included. Ask for customs support or an insurance option if needed. Import taxes, technical approval and registration depend on local requirements and your circumstances.
Cost and timing depend on the route, vehicle dimensions and condition, shipping method, available sailings and selected services. The team reviews your details before issuing a quotation and indicative schedule.
